Today I have mixed darker shades of the fabric dye. I cut 12 yards of pfd cotton into 1 yard pieces and soaked them in hot water. Now the fabric is soaking up all the glorious color. The little buckets are on the garage floor and the lighting in there is dark. I love mixing the dyes to make whatever color I want. This fabric will be used for my art quilts and for postcards. I have 24 cards due in this current swap and another swap starts in January.
I have some silk dupioni to be dyed that will become scarves for Christmas presents. Once I dye the silk the scarves will be pleated and the edges given a rolled hem. A quick and nice gift.
